There is a spirit of doubt that is causing confusion and despondency in the Body of Christ.
It seeks to destroy, dismantle, and distract you from the will of God in your life.
Those things God has asked you to do, places he has asked you to go, and assignments he has given you, are under attack.
Your faith itself is under attack.
The spirit realm is increasing in greater measure- greater glory for the saints, and greater persecution as well.
Doubt sounds like this:
It doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
I want to run from this and forget about it.
I want to run away from God and yet I know I need him most.
I am afraid of what will happen if I step out.
I am afraid of what will happen if I do not step out.
I am afraid.
I am worried.
I am anxious.
I am unsure.
I am confused.
Doubt will challenge your motives, your perseverance, and your discernment.
It will speak to any insecurity left within you and put a highlighter to it.
You will feel frustrated and frazzled all the time.
It will be hard to get into the secret place and seek the face of the Lord.
Silence is scary.
You will not know which way to go and which way to turn. You will feel left behind or overlooked or forgotten. You will feel defeated.
You are not alone, you are not overlooked, and you are not abandoned- but you are attacked.
The attack is only as strong as the fighter.
We do not fight with worldly weapons, but with the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
We have been given not a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
We do not wage war with principalities as if we are a people who operate out of fear- we are a people of victory who have everything we need in the blood of the Lamb and his atoning sacrifice!
Do not bow to fear.
Do not listen to the accusatory voice in your head.
Do not listen to the deafening silence that has convinced you God has forgotten you.
Do not listen to anything but the word of God.
“You will not fear,” says the Lord, “because I have not given you a spirit of fear! I will wage war against your enemies and silence your foes. You will trust and obey. That is your assignment day after day- trust and obey, trust and obey, trust and obey. Do not doubt me, do not doubt what I have placed within you, and do not doubt the road of faith we have walked together and will continue to walk into eternity. Lives are at stake. Do not listen to the voice of the evil one. He has no good thing to say, he only speaks lies and utters profanities against my people. I WILL VINDICATE YOU!”
Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced.
Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.
He who vindicates me is near.
Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other!
Who is my accuser? Let him confront me!
It is the Sovereign Lord who helps me.
Who will condemn me? They will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up.
Isaiah 50:7-9
Doubt always seeks to silence.
Doubt and fear are first cousins.
They both want to bind up the living waters that are meant to pour out of your belly.
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. John 7:37
You are the hands and feet of Jesus. You are the walking, talking, tangible expression of the living God, and you have been given authority to bring heaven to earth.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:19
Why is that such a threat to the enemy?
Because when heaven comes, hell must go.
This is why the war is waged.
When you walk out the will of God, you are waging war against the devil himself.
But you have authority to overcome every trick, trap, and wicked plot designed to assassinate you!
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19
You must fight as one who has been bought with blood.
You must pray, fast, seek.
You must become aware of the thoughts you think, and be vigilant in asking yourself if those thoughts line up with what God’s word says.
You must believe and have faith.
You must stretch forth your tent pegs and not turn back.
You must remain steadfast and strong.
You must believe not in your might or power, but in the spirit of our God who gives us all strength to overcome the enemy.
You must remember your fight is not against flesh and blood, but against spirits and principalities.
You must remember this is war, which means you must remain effective in the training of your hands with the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17)
You must, must, must, stop listening to the voices of those who are not God. It does not matter how much you’ve believed them to have your best interest in mind- if it does not align with his word and what he is speaking to you, throw it away.
You must stop doubting the call on your life and the ability God has given you to live it out.
You must remain faithful and steadfast in all things.
Diligence is critical.
Rest is essential.
Communion is vital.
Do not doubt. Do not fear. Do not turn back.
Look to the hills, where your help comes from, and let the Lord infuse you with his strength, his truth, and his love once again.
The spirit of doubt will attack your heart motives-
Why do you want more influence? That’s not of God.
Why do you need to be seen? Are you seeking your glory or God’s?
Why do you want to do this? To look better, feel better, seem better?
Do you really need to walk in a calling? Do you really need to think about that? It would be easier to do something else.
Why does it matter what you do? Just glorify God.
Don’t worry about your mission or your assignment, just sit down and shut up- that’s true humility.
Pride is what motivates you!
What does God gain from you?
Do you hear the theme in all of these accusations?
It’s all about you, and not about God- therefore, you should stop.
It always comes back to the tactic of fear, because fear binds us up into knots. We become frozen.
When we are frozen, we are not effective.
That is why perfect love casts out fear- because when you live and move in the love of Jesus, you are at liberty.
Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17
You do not need to second-guess or worry about what your motive is, because you know the one your heart desires to glorify in every way- and that is Jesus.
Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. John 7:18
Be bold.
Be courageous.
Be exactly who God designed you to be, and do not for a moment waver from the hope God has set before you.
How will souls be saved if we are afraid to evangelize?
How will hearts be impacted if we do not live out our testimony?
How will we see greater glory if we are afraid to take dominion where God has assigned us?
What do we gain from being quiet and afraid in the face of our heavenly assignment?
What do we lose when we forfeit our authority?
It is pleasing to God for us to walk in the fullness of what he has asked us to do. He delights in obedience, and if you love him, you will too.
God is pleased to see his Kingdom go forth in the earth.
Every single one of us has an assignment to complete to see his Kingdom come and his will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Let us be found worthy of the call by renouncing doubt in every way.
and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail. Matthew 16:18
